A back-end developer is responsible for creating and maintaining the server-side components of websites and web applications. Their main goal is to develop the “behind-the-scenes” functionality that makes the user-facing components of a website work. They write code, manage databases, develop APIs, implement security measures, optimise performance, integrate third-party services, and conduct testing and debugging. Their task is to develop a website with a reliable and efficient back-end infrastructure that will perform all functions and ensure its overall performance.
